Damage cover

How we protect both renters and lenders when something goes wrong.

Security deposit

Every listing includes a refundable security deposit set by the lender. This deposit is held against the booking and is released back to the renter when the item is returned on time and in the same condition it was received.

If an item is damaged

As soon as a lender notices damage, they should:

  1. Message the renter through the booking thread to explain the issue.
  2. Take clear photos of the damage and any relevant labels or packaging.
  3. Request admin support from the same booking thread if the issue cannot be resolved directly.

How disputes are resolved

The RentWear admin team reviews damage claims, photos, messages and the deposit amount. We then decide fairly how much of the deposit should cover the damage and how much should be returned to the renter. Our decision is final.

What is not covered

  • Normal wear such as light creasing or minor loose threads.
  • Damage that existed before the rental and was not shown in listing photos.
  • Loss or theft that happens outside the agreed rental period.
